How are you? I am fine.

I'll always remember my mom sitting at the kitchen table with a cigarette and a cup of coffee, writing letters that spanned several pages. Her letters were always long because she didn't stop writing if she had to go do something. She came back. And she'd always write 'I'm back' so you knew.

I was young when she showed me how to write my first letter. I remember liking the fact that I could start every one the same way. Decades of letter-writing would follow. To this day, my letters still start with a version of ‘How are you? I am fine.’

It's obvious by the way she's looking at me that she's thinking two things: what a cute freakin' baby and this one's going to be a letter-writer ;)

Good Wares feels like a huge ode to my mom and the sacred act of letter writing, but it's also a nod to a young girl's dream of creating meaningful spaces for handwritten words, and spaces for those who express themselves more visually through their art.

Thanks for joining me on this amazing journey. I hope you enjoy perusing the site!

Take Good care :)
